HOW OUT THE SADDLE STARTED.

“OUT THE SADDLE” is the name I gave to my first training program, which I gave to a rider who had fallen off her horse and injured her back. I wanted her to understand that this program was about her alignment and movement, not necessarily about improving her riding.

After working with me for about three weeks and doing the OTS exercises and stretches, she came to me one morning and said, “Since I’ve been doing this OTS program, my horse now goes better!” To be clear, this was not my intention nor was I trying to improve the horse through the exercises. I was simply aligning the rider’s movements.

I have come to understand that, as a rider, it’s important to understand that your posture and alignment play a significant role in your overall riding performance. That’s why I created the OTS training program – to help riders like you improve your alignment and movement on horseback.

When you work with me on the OTS program, you’ll focus on exercises and stretches designed to improve YOUR body mechanics and help you move more efficiently in the saddle. Although the program isn’t specifically designed to improve your horse’s performance, you may find that your horse starts moving better as a result of your improved alignment.

This was the experience of my first client, who saw improvements in her horse’s movement after working with me for just three weeks. However, it’s important to note that the goal of the OTS program is not to improve the horse, but to help you, the rider, become more aligned and confident in your movements.

Since 2015, I have continued my education in this area by attending countless lessons and clinics with some of the leading trainers in not only South Africa, but also the world, observing coaches and riders. By constantly learning and growing, I am better equipped to help riders like you, achieve your goals and improve your riding performance.

If you’re ready to take your riding to the next level, I encourage you to consider the OTS training program. Together, we’ll work to improve your alignment and movement, and help you become a more confident and effective rider.”
